Bob is a shareholder in Powell, Ebert & Smolik, P.C. After receiving his Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting and Finance from the University of Texas at Austin, he joined Price Waterhouse-Houston in 1980. In 1982 he moved to Glass & Company in Austin and was admitted to ownership in 1987. He joined Powell, Ebert and Smolik, P.C. in 1995 and was made a shareholder in 1996.

Bob has extensive experience in the taxation of individuals, corporations, partnerships and fiduciaries. He performs planning and tax compliance for a variety of clients including: business owners, professionals, investors and managers with Austin businesses. He has experience in the valuation of closely held businesses for contract, litigation, federal estate, and income tax purposes. Additionally, he consults with clients in the areas of business and personal planning, business performance, and information systems.

Bob is active in numerous professional and charitable organizations, serving on the boards of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation-Austin and the Young Men's Business League Sunshine Foundation. He is also an Elder at Westminster Presbyterian Church. Bob and his wife Julie have a son and a daughter.
